MANILA, PH — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has proclaimed the 12 winning senators in the 2025 Midterm Elections on Saturday, May 17.

Based on the number of votes, the "Magic 12" or winning Senators in the polls are as follows:

  1. Bong Go
  2. Bam Aquino
  3. Ronald dela Rosa
  4. Erwin Tulfo
  5. Francis Pangilinan
  6. Rodante Marcoleta
  7. Panfilo Lacson
  8. Vicente Sotto III
  9. Pia Cayetano
  10. Camille Villar
  11. Lito Lapid
  12. Imee Marcos

Except for Kiko Pangilinan, the eleven other Senators-elect were present in the proclamation. Pangilinan has flown to the US with wife Sharon Cuneta to attend the graduation of daughter Frankie.

For the eleven winning candidates, Senator Imee Marcos was first to be called on stage, for landing on the 12th spot in this election's Magic 12.

She thanked Former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte for helping her in her campaign.

Marcos briefly thanked her mom, former First Lady Imelda Marcos. “96 na po siya," Senator Imee said after a quick photo opportunity with Mrs. Marcos in a wheelchair, together with sons Michael and Borgy Manotoc, sister-in-law Cara and grandchildren.

She did not mention any other member of her own family.

After Marcos, Lito Lapid was proclaimed next, followed by an emotional Camille Villar who shed tears thanking her family and telling her dad, billionaire Manny Villar, that her childhood dream to follow in his footsteps has finally come true.

Next to Villar were Pia Cayetano, and Tito Sotto who promised to perform oversight duties and to restore the good image of the Senate as an institution.

Ping Lacson was proclaimed next, who congratulated the Comelec for a "job well done" in the midterm polls.

Lacson thanked God, and his parents for being part of his life journey, sharing their lessons on honesty, saying "huwag na huwag magnanakaw," and instilling one guiding rule on "fighting for what is right."

Proclaimed next was Rodante Marcoleta who said he will prove that he is deserving of his victory.

Next was Kiko Pangilinan but was not present at the event. The eldest of the nine siblings, Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas gave a speech on Kiko's behalf.

Proclaimed next was Erwin Tulfo who vowed to be a bridge to political opponents, and to push for programs that unite, not divide.

Next to be proclaimed was Ronald dela Rosa who greeted his "Duter10" partymates, "marami akong natutunan sa inyo."

He also took a swipe at the administration, "Puede pala tayong mahalin ng tao ng walang dalang ayuda." He also reiterated that his votes are a protest against the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Bam Aquino

Proclaimed next was Bam Aquino as Top 2 in the Magic 12. He emphasized his aspiration "na tayo ay magsama-sama" and to exercise his mandate well.

"Araw-araw na tayo'y nasa Senado, araw-araw naming iisipin kung paano aangat ang buhay ng bawat Filipino," Bam said, who admitted to being a dark horse in the polls.

Bong Go

Last to be proclaimed was Bong Go who topped the top 12 Senators. "Truly, God is good, God is fair. Pinagpapala po ang nagpapakumbaba.. salamat sa suporta sa isang Bisayang-Batangueno na tubong-Mindanao,” Go said.

As expected, he thanked former President Duterte whom he has served for two decades. He also thanked Vice President Sara for the support, as well as the Comelec and the teachers for serving in the electoral boards.

Go promised to continue pushing for pro-poor programs and legislation that will create jobs and solve the problem on hunger. He also emphasized peace and order measures "para ang ating mga anak ay ligtas na makapaglakad pauwi."

The proclamation was held at the Tent City of the Manila Hotel.
