Dubai-based Filipino U12 cagers to represent UAE at World Youth Championship

DUBAI, UAE — Young Filipino basketball players set to represent Dubai and the United Arab Emirates at the World Youth Championship in Singapore paid a courtesy call on Consul General Ambrosio Brian Enciso III at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, on July 21, 2026, ahead of their international campaign.

The team was accompanied by Grind Basketball Academy head coach John Kelly Montilla.

The team is composed of boys born in 2014 and 2015 who train under Dubai's Grind Basketball Academy. The team will compete against top youth squads from around the world at the tournament, which will be held in August.

The World Youth Championship is an international youth basketball tournament that brings together teams from across the globe, giving young athletes the opportunity to compete on the world stage while promoting sportsmanship and cultural exchange.
