Lumpia Queen is WIBA Food Creator for 2025
CANNES, FRANCE— The humble lumpia and the 'Lumpia Queen,' herself, have been going places - literally.
Philippine pride and 'Lumpia Queen' Abi Marquez won as Food Creator of the Year at the 7th Edition of the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards 2025 (WIBA) during the Cannes Film Festival.
"Still CRAZY to me that I’m in Europe for the first time and recognized for what my team and I have built with love, to be surrounded by creators from around the world AND to represent Filipino food on another global platform," said Marquez.
She is grateful to all those who have watched and shared her content, and believed in her from Day1. Known as Lumpia Queen - her inventive takes on the lumpia have made her recipes go viral worldwide.
"You helped Filipino Food be seen across the globe," she said, addressing her followers.
Abi wore a striking red terno created by Fashion designer to the stars Jo Rubio who has designed Filipiniana-inspired creations for big celebrities like Pia Wurtzbach, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, to name a few, and even for the stylish Mayor of Manila Honey Lacuna.
The terno Abi wore was also a design genius - having been inspired by a favorite Filipino merienda.
"I had fun creating this red terno inspired by the Pinoy Spaghetti. Infusing gold plated fork festooned with silk straps simulating pasta noodles and dangling Pearls and Gold beads. Her creative team and I have thought of a dish that is known globally and something close to Pinoy culinary experience. Embroidered on the train is the phrase "Kain Tayo" - an expression that evokes Filipino's warm and welcoming invitation to share a meal, a symbol of hospitality and togetherness," Rubio shared.
