MANILA—Filipina tennis star Alex Eala has reached a new career milestone following her impressive performance at the 2026 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. As of today, 9 February 2026, Eala has officially broken into the top 40, achieving a new career-high WTA ranking of World No. 40.

This five-spot jump from her previous ranking of No. 45 comes on the heels of a successful stint in the United Arab Emirates, where she earned significant ranking points and international praise.

Eala is not slowing down as she continues her Middle East swing. She has already arrived in Doha for the WTA 1000 Qatar Open, where she has secured a direct spot in the main draw.
