Carlos Yulo Bags Gold In Men’s Vault In Artistic Gymnastics World Championship
JAKARTA, Indonesia—Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Carlos Yulo bagged the Bronze medal at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championship 2025 in Jakarta on October 24, 2025.
Yulo ended his Floor Exercise to loud applause from the audience at the 53rd Artistic Gymnastic World Championship 2025. He earned the score 14.533, slightly lower than his Qualifying Round score of 14.566.
British-Filipino Jake Jarman won the Gold Medal with a Final Score of 14.866, higher than his qualifying round score of 14.700. His performance was met with thunderous applause from the audience. Luke Whitehouse's score took a big leap from 13.866 in the qualifying round to 14.666 in the Finals. Despite ranking last among the top eight finalists, Whitehouse went on to win the silver medal, with Great Britain dominating the floor exercise.
Yulo excels in the floor exercise and vault—his strongest events. He captured two gold medals for the Philippines in these disciplines at the 2024 Paris Olympics. As the Floor Exercise is already done, he has one more chance to bring home a gold medal from the World Championship in Jakarta. He is scheduled to compete in the Vault Finals, where he is the top contender, on Saturday, October 25. He tops the eight finalists with a score of 14.750. Artur Davtyan from Armenia, who comes in second, is a strong candidate for Gold as well. But Cynthia Carreon, President of Gymnastic Association of the Philippines, hopes for a Gold finish for Yulo.
His podium finish for the two events will continue his campaign for excellence on the world stage.
