Carson City Celebrates Philippine Independence Day
CARSON, California — Hundreds of Filipino-Americans had gathered at Carson City's 128th Philippine Independence Day celebration last June 6, 2026 at the Veterans Park in Moneta, Carson, California.
Over 40 Fil-Am community groups, media and civic organizations participated in the parade after a morning mass.

Carson City's Annual Philippine Independence Day celebration is one of the most largest yearly events in California as the city is home to one of the most prominent Filipino American communities in the United States, with Filipinos making up over 20% of the city’s population. Since the 1920s, the city is a major hub for Filipino culture, cuisine, and civic life in Southern California.
Some Fil-Ams who will be running at the National Elections on November this year were also present during the event including Cerritos mayor pro-tem Mark Pulido who will be running to the California State Assembly 67th District which includes northern Orange County and parts of Los Angeles County, encompassing cities such as Fullerton, Buena Park, Anaheim and Cerritos.
During the event, Pulido was also recognized by the City Of Carson as Grand Marshal for his long record in education, local government and community service.

Another Fil-Am Genevieve Angel, who is seeking a seat for 44th District in Congress also came to celebrate the Filipino heritage and culture. Angel is a registered nurse and a small-business owner.
