
DMW Hands Financial Assistance To 100 Pinoy Cancer Patients In Kuwait
KUWAIT—The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) through the DMW AKSYON Fund handed financial assistance to some 100 Filipino cancer patients in Kuwait on December 6, 2025 at the Al Baraka Ballroom , Crowne Plaza Hotel on the sidelines of the second-day of the “Bagong Bayani Serbisyo Caravan” that kicked off on December 5. 2025 till December 7, 2025.


DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan gave out the cash assistance of KWD 390 (PhP 75,000) each from the AKSYON (Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFW na Nangangailangan) Fund during the program dubbed “Showing Gratitude and Building Opportunities” organized by the Kabayan Cancer Support Group (KCSG), Embassy of the Philippines-Kuwait, Migrant Workers Office-Kuwait and On-Site Welfare Office.

The event hosted by Pinoy Arabia Presenter Gem Mendoza was also graced by Kuwaiti philanthropist Sheikha Awrad Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as the guest of honor and joined in by Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Jose Cabrera III and other embassy officials, Assistant Labor Attache Sofia Matote, Welfare Officers Lorna Obedoza and Emmanuel Santiago Diaz, MWO-OWO staff and KCSG officials and members led by its President, Marcelino Mallari as well as the DMW-OWWA delegation from Manila.

In his speech, Cacdac reiterated the government's commitment under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to promoting the safety, welfare and optimum health of all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
