
Double Gold Filipino Olympian Carlos Yulo Is World Men's Vault Champion
JAKARTA, Indonesia—Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo shows his gold medal after bagging the gold in the Men’s Vault Final at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastic World Championship with an overall score of 14.866.
He scored 15.200 in his first Vault receiving the loudest cheers from the audience. FIG announcer described his routine as "one of the most difficult falls in the world". His second vault earned him 14.533.
In an exclusive interview with TFCN, Carlos Yulo shares his happiness after bagging the Gold Medal and conveys his respect to his fellow vaulters.
Yulo said he's more motivated for today's Finals after bagging bronze yesterday in the Field Exercise.
"Para sa’kin, na-appreciate ko lahat every moment na nandito ako.. Dalawang event lang ang nasalihan ko this time. I’m very happy po na nakapasok po ako, both sa floor and vault. Dun pa lang super happy and greatful ako… It was a good fight. Maraming Salamat po,” quips Yulo.
Meanwhile, Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion, and Carlos Yulo's coach, Nedal Alyousef, are beaming with happiness and pride following Yulo’s win in the Men’s Vault Final.
