MANILA – Emirates is ramping up recruitment of experienced Filipino pilots as the Dubai-based airline expands its fleet.

Emirates, currently ranked as the world's largest international airline by international capacity, is bolstering its international network and preparing for further growth in global air travel.

The airline's official pilot recruitment website lists recruitment events in Manila on October 28 and 29, 2026 – giving eligible Filipino aviators an opportunity to learn more about joining its international flight crew.

Recruitment dates

The airline lists Manila recruitment events for October 28 and 29, 2026, and explains its pilot career programmes, selection process and benefits.

Emirates recruits pilots for several positions – including First Officers, Direct Entry Captains and pilots eligible for its Accelerated Command programme.

Requirements vary by position, aircraft experience and command qualifications.

For First Officer positions, Emirates currently lists a minimum of 2,000 hours of total flying time, a valid International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), an unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate and recent experience on type.

Applicants must also meet the airline's language-proficiency and aircraft-experience requirements.

Captain positions have higher experience thresholds.

Emirates lists at least 7,000 hours of total flying time for Direct Entry Captains, while its Accelerated Command programme starts at 5,000 hours for suitably qualified pilots.

Fleet expansion

The recruitment drive comes as Emirates continues investing in new aircraft and cabin upgrades.

In September, the airline said it had received 18 aircraft since January 2026, comprising 11 Airbus A350s and seven Boeing 777 freighters. A further six A350s were scheduled for delivery before the end of the year.

The airline's longer-term fleet plans are substantial.

On March 31, 2026, Emirates reported a fleet of 277 aircraft and an order book of 367 aircraft, with deliveries extending through 2038.

For successful applicants, the opportunity offers an international flying career based in Dubai, with access to Emirates' wide-body fleet and a benefits package that can include accommodation, medical cover, annual leave and travel benefits.

Eligibility and compensation depend on the role and applicable employment terms.

Interested pilots should check the airline's official careers website for the latest vacancies, eligibility requirements and recruitment-event details before applying.
