WHITTIER, California — Some members of the Filipino-American community gathered and took part in the massive nationwide protests during the "No Kings" Day held last March 28, 2026.

Veteran photojournalist and TFCN-North America correspondent Joe Cobilla Jr.'s lens captured the rally at downtown Whittier where an estimated 1,000 people attended.

The "No Kings" rally at the downtown Whittier was just part of the widespread demonstrations across the United States particularly in California's Los Angeles and Orange counties to denounce the present administration's illegal immigration enforcement and other federal policies.

It was reported at Inquirer.net that some members of the Pilipino Workers Center (PWC) led by its Executive Director Aquilina Soriano Versoza held a similar "No Kings" rally at United Park at the Historic Filipinotown located in downtown Los Angeles.

It was estimated that more than 3,300 protests took place across all 50 states, with more than 8 million people turnout, calling it the largest single-day demonstration in US history.

Aside from the Whittier rally, a total of 40 demonstrations were held in LA County, including Burbank, Culver City, Hollywood, Long Beach, Malibu, Venice and Woodland Hills.

More than a dozen demonstrations were also held in Orange County, including Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Santa Ana and Westminster.

In San Diego, it was estimated that some 40,000 protesters attended the county’s largest rally and march in downtown San Diego at Waterfront Park next to the County Administration Center.

Similar rallies were also held across other San Diego County including Ocean Beach, La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Mira Mesa, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Fallbrook, Rancho Bernardo, Ramona, La Mesa, El Cajon, Chula Vista, Otay Mesa and Borrego Springs.

No Kings Day (or "No Kings Day of Nonviolent Action") is a nationwide protest movement in the U.S. designed to oppose authoritarianism, economic inequality, and policies of the present administration, often emphasizing that the country belongs to its people rather than a "king". Organized by coalitions of progressive groups and labor unions, these demonstrations have drawn millions in peaceful protests across all 50 states.
