SAN FRANCISCO, California—Filipino-American lawyer Flomy Javier Diza will receive the 2026 Outstanding Advocate for Immigrant Justice at the 9th Edition Amerika Prestige Awards to be held on May 23, 2026 at the Celebrity Center International Pavilion, Hollywood, California.

In an interview with TFCN, Diza said he is truly grateful for this recognition as he views this award not as personal achievements but as a reflection of the collective efforts of many people who trusted him with their stories, his colleagues and mentors who guided him, his team who works tirelessly behind the scenes, and his family who continues to support him through long days and challenging cases.

"Winning awards is deeply humbling. Every award reminds me that advocacy matters and that our work impacts real lives. But more than the recognition itself, what truly moves me is knowing that our voices and our mission are being heard," Diza said when asked how does it feel to win such award.

"Awards are not the destination; they are reminders to continue serving with compassion, integrity, and dedication. They push me to work harder, mentor more, and advocate louder for immigrant communities who deserve dignity, fairness, and opportunity. At the end of the day, the greatest reward will always be seeing families reunited, dreams realized, and lives changed," the North America-based immigration attorney.

At present, Diza is a partner at Reeves Immigration Law Group. He joined the firm'sSan Francisco office as an associate attorney in 2004. He was promoted to Senior Associate. In 2007 and became a partner of the firm in January 2008. He currently serves as the Supervising Attorney for the San Francisco and Concord, California offices.

Diza also regularly provides expert analysis on a variety of immigration matters for the PHLV radio shows broadcast world-wide from 2018 to present.

Asked what inspires him, he said "On a personal level, my inspiration comes from my own immigrant journey, my family, and the mentors who guided me when I was still trying to find my path in this profession. I draw strength from my parents’ sacrifices, from colleagues who continue to advocate fearlessly for justice, and from young lawyers who remind me that passion and purpose can truly change lives."

He said long before he became a lawyer, he has always been an advocate of helping people navigate through immigration challenges.

"Over the years, my advocacy has grown beyond individual case representation. I have dedicated my career to educating immigrant communities through legal clinics, media programs, public forums, and community outreach. Through radio programs, television shows, social media platforms, and public speaking engagements, I strive to make immigration law more understandable and accessible," said Diza, who has been providing free legal consultation every first of the month from 2016 to present at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, California.

When asked about his message to his fellow Filipino-Americans, Diza said, "I want to remind you that you belong here. Your voice matters. Your contributions strengthen this nation. Your story is powerful and worthy of being told. Despite changes in immigration policies, shifting enforcement climates, or moments of political uncertainty, one truth remains constant: hope is stronger than fear."

"We must stay informed, stay united, and continue supporting one another. We must lead with integrity, excellence, and compassion — the very values deeply rooted in our culture. The Filipino-American community is resilient, educated, faith-driven, and service-oriented. We are nurses, doctors, accountants, teachers, engineers, caregivers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, and public servants. We are innovators and advocates. We are leaders," he added.

"Let us continue uplifting one another, mentoring the next generation, and advocating with dignity. Let us move forward with faith — faith in our families, in our community, and in our shared future. The American dream is not just something we pursue; it is something we actively help build every single day. And together, our future remains bright," he pointed out.
