Filipino Migrant Workers Recognised at Singapore Photography Festival

SINGAPORE — Works by several Filipino overseas workers highlighting themes of community, labour, and personal resilience have gained top honours at the Migrant Workers Photography Festival 2026 at the National Museum of Singapore.

Representatives from the Philippine Embassy in Singapore visited the venue on 13 August 2026 to honour the participants whose photo essays were selected for this year's showcase.

Filipino worker Renelyn Fuentes secured first place in the Series Category. Fellow overseas workers Jenelyn Leyble, Rose Vilog, and Donica Villamor were named finalists in the same category, while Janelyn Dupingay achieved a finalist distinction in the Singles Category.

The annual festival aims to provide a creative platform for migrant workers across Singapore to share personal perspectives and document their everyday lived experiences through photography.

According to the diplomatic mission, the featured collection underscores the creative talent and ongoing social contributions of the Filipino community in the city-state.

The exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore remains open to the public with free admission through 30 September 2026.
