MADRID — A 100-member multicultural ensemble, Modern Choir, earned the final Golden Buzzer of the season on Got Talent España on March 14, delivering what judges described as one of the most powerful and emotional performances in the show’s history.

The Golden Buzzer automatically advances the group straight to the semifinals of the competition.

The choir, composed of members from nearly 10 nationalities, includes Filipino tenor Dennis Tanoc. Founded in Madrid during the pandemic, Modern Choir has expanded to Alicante and Valencia, bringing together singers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Tanoc, who joined the group in January 2025, began singing at age 12 with the Santo Niño de Cebu Parish in Talisay City, Philippines. After moving to Spain in 2019 as a language assistant, he continued his musical journey by joining a church choir in Càlig, Castellón.

Now based in Valencia and working as an executive assistant, Tanoc remains active in music while immersing himself in Spanish and Valencian culture. He joined Modern Choir without expecting that the group would later be invited by Mediaset España to perform on national television.

The Golden Buzzer performance marked the first time all three branches of the choir performed together on stage—an ambitious collaboration that resulted in a historic moment.

Judges responded with visible emotion, praising not only the choir’s technical precision but also the scale and impact of the performance. They described it as “overwhelming,” “moving,” and “unlike anything seen before,” culminating in what has been called the most multitudinous Golden Buzzer moment in the program’s history.

For Tanoc, the experience went beyond the performance itself.

“Music has never just been something I do… I’m just an ordinary person,” he said. “But joining Modern Choir became a defining moment—it gave me a place where I truly feel accepted.”

He added that being part of a diverse group helped him grow both personally and artistically.

“Being surrounded by people with different stories taught me to connect without judgment and to see that everyone has something special to offer,” Tanoc said. “Standing there on national television and earning the Golden Buzzer wasn’t just recognition—it was the result of years of dedication and believing in myself.”

In a brief interview following their performance, musical director Marina Martinez Rubio said it was the first time all three branches of the choir came together to audition for Got Talent España, highlighting unity, diversity, and collaboration as the core of their performance.
