iEmmys: French Documentary On PH’s Child Labor In Gold Mining Nominated

The International Emmy Awards has nominated a French documentary about the Philippines that tackles the hazardous child labor in gold mining under the Current Affairs Category.

The award-giving body has announced the documentary nominees, including the “PHILIPPINES: DIVING FOR GOLD”, produced by Keyi Productions / Arte G.Ε.Ι.Ε.

“The Philippines has vast deposits of gold. But much of it is mined by children. They alone are slender enough to dive deep into self-dug tunnels, through swamps or down to the seabed. The highly dangerous undertaking puts their lives at risk,” iEmmys posted on Instagram.

The French documentary will be competing with the other documentary programs that feature social and political issues.

The winners of the 53rd International Emmy® Awards will be announced Monday, November 24, 2025 in New York.
