Philippine Ambassador To Open Culture Night In Cavan With Filipino Dance Performances
CAVAN, Ireland—The Philippine community will take centre stage in Cavan this Culture Night as H.E. Daniel R. Espiritu, Philippine Ambassador to Ireland, joins the Cathaoirleach John Paul Feeley of Cavan County Council and Cavan Arts officials to officially open Culture Night 2025 and launch Cultúr Cavan Creatives at the Exhibition Room, Johnston Central Library, at 4:00 PM. Culture Night is Ireland’s national celebration of creativity and community.
The launch, supported by Creative Ireland through Creative Cavan, unveils a new digital platform initiated by Eco Arts & Culture for All and Cavan Creatives and hosted on Cavan Connects, a county-wide initiative using technology to connect communities and promote inclusion.

Cultúr Cavan Creatives is designed to showcase and support artists of all backgrounds, with a special focus on migrants, women, LGBTQIA+ creatives, neurodiverse artists, and other underrepresented voices. Ambassador Espiritu’s presence highlights the intercultural spirit of the project and acknowledges the growing contributions of Filipino and migrant communities to Ireland’s cultural life.
Later in the evening, from 5:00–7:00 PM, the celebrations move outdoors to Market Square, where the Filipino community will shine alongside other ethnic groups in a multicultural showcase. The K-Pap dancers, a spirited troupe of Filipino meat factory workers, will energise the crowd with their high-energy contemporary medleys — performances full of resilience, rhythm, and joy.

They will be joined by Santo Niño Ireland, winners of the 2025 European Child of Prague Dance Competition in Venice, who will present their award-winning Sinulog-inspired street dance. Their 20-member performance honours the Santo Niño (Child of Prague), a symbolic figure cherished in both the Philippines and Ireland, with colour, devotion, and festival spirit.
Together, the launch at the library and the performances at Market Square will make Culture Night Cavan 2025 a memorable celebration of creativity, diversity, and belonging, bridging Irish and Filipino traditions in a shared cultural exchange.
