L.A.-based Lions Club Sees Membership Expansion In 2026
SAN FERNANDO, California—Lions Clubs International District 4L3 Governor Nicanor Mananghaya has shared his excitement for the coming year as they continue to increase the number of their members and volunteers to implement their global causes and different community activities and programs.
"We are encouraging every member of our communities to be involved in sharing blessing to others so that our communities will be living in harmony especially the Filipinos here in Los Angeles. My goal is to make more clubs in Lions year 2025-2026 to increase our membership right now, I have already chartered two new clubs who are ready to serve our communities," Mananghaya said in an interview with TFCN at the sidelines of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles (FACCGLA) Holiday Celebration 2025 last December 7, 2025 at San Fernando Masonic Lodge in San Fernando, California.

Lions Clubs International has about 1.4 million members in some 42 countries around the globe that serve in over 45,000 clubs from over 200 countries, making it the world's largest service club organization.
Mananghaya, a retired senior finance manager of the Los Angeles Unified School District, said being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness. He has served LAUSD for more than 20 years. Other than Lions, he is also a member of the Knights of Columbus for 35 years and served for 10 years as their council treasurer.
"We are blessed so we are sharing our blessings to others. We are serving different groups of people, serving the homeless, giving aids to the homeless. We have a lot of global causes like helping people with cancer, diabetes and those suffering from mental health problems," said Mananghaya.
