ManoHealth taps US-based Filipino for A New Model of Cross-Border Family Care

LOS ANGELES, California — ManoHealth, formerly SendVia, is intensifying its marketing efforts to tap more US-based Filipino clients.

In a press conference held at Manila Inasal Restaurant in Los Angeles, California last September 25, 2026, ManoHealth co-founder and managing director Matt Jordan said since they introduced this one-of-a-kind health care services some years back, they have been getting more Filipino clients in the US who have been expressing keen interest.

Jordan, however, explained that they need to change their brand name as they have been mistaken as a "remittance" company.

According to Jordan, they decided to change SendVia to ManoHealth, inspired by the Filipino tradition of "mano" which is a gesture in which a younger person takes an elder’s hand and gently brings it to their forehead as a sign of respect, as this new identity is reflective of one of the Philippines' most enduring love, respect, and care for elders.

"We see a lot of potential for these kinds of personalized home care services for Filipinos as they have always been known for being loving and caring for their families back home," said Jordan.

ManoHealth co-founder director of customer impact Mariah Mateo Sarpong, for her part, described the new branding name as "the human connection ManoHealth hopes its new name will represent. ManoHealth is health with a human touch."

Sarpong said ManoHealth does not only provide coordinated care services but also gives peace of mind for both the US-based subscriber and the loved one receiving the care in the Philippines.

"We would like to invite immigrants especially Fiipinos to support the health care of their family members back home in the Philippines. We are an alternative to sending just money, sometimes sending money is okay for health care problems but sometimes it's not enough. So we provide a health advocate who helps coordinate in-home care for your family members, it's a personal team member that is assigned to your family that can advocate and keep you on the loop while you are here in the US. And we also provide, as part of our monthly package, a telemedicine service along with in-home care from doctors and nurses," said Sarpong, explaining how ManoHealth differs from other existing home care services.

Utah-based ManoHealth care coordinator Dearly Carrasco, for her part, said ManoHealth is committed to be US-based Filipino clients' trusted partner to ensure that while they are miles away, their family members' health are properly being taken care of.

"For millions of Filipinos living abroad, supporting parents, grandparents and other loved ones back home has long been part of family life. But sending financial support is only one part of caregiving. Distance can make seemingly simple questions difficult to answer: Did Mom make it to her appointment? Did Dad understand what the doctor said? Who will accompany Lola to the clinic? Is someone checking on her regularly? Who can the family call when something changes? ManoHealth was created to help bridge that distance. Its model combines healthcare access with ongoing personal support so families abroad can remain more involved in the care of loved ones in the Philippines," Carrasco said.

For her part, Ivy Manalang, an LA-based subscriber of ManoHealth, was teary-eyed when she gave her testimonials on how this kind of home services helps her and her family back home in the Philippines. " This gives me some kind of relief knowing that my parents are in good hands and their health are being monitored regularly and efficiently.

Rosa and Ben Avellana, Ivy's parents, said the home care services gave them "ease" in everything health-related. "I am getting my prescription on time, and my medicine is being delivered right to my door and really fast," Rosa said.

At a base rate of $99 per month subscription, ManoHealth services include Care Coordination, an Annual Doctor Visit, Quarterly Nurse Visits, 24/7 Telehealth, a dedicated Care Companion, and a HealthWallet for laboratory and pharmacy needs.
