MANILAThe Kinaadman Center for Culture and the Arts of Colegion San Agustin Bacolod (CSA Bacolod) proudly brought the MassKara Festival at the recently concluded "Thailand International Mask Carnival" in Bangkok, August 8, 2025.

The MassKara Festival is a major celebration held annually in October in Bacolod City. The festivities include performers wearing various styles of smiling masks that are intricately adorned with beads, feathers, and other ornaments, dancing to the rhythm of jubilant music. Local and tourists join in their infectious energy and dance along them in the streets of Bacolod.

In addition to the performance of CSA Bacolod, the Philippines’ artistry and mask culture was displayed through an eye-catching piece at the event's mask exhibition, alongside masks from other Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries at the Siam Paragon Mall.

Event attendees also had the opportunity to make their own masks in a simultaneous mask-making workshop.

Taking part in the event was Philippine Ambassador to Thailand, Millicent Cruz Paredes together with representatives of other ASEAN embassies and partners, officials from the Ministry of Culture, cultural network partners, and other distinguished guests.

Colorful and lively performances from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, China and Republic of Korea were also featured.

The "Thailand International Mask Carnival" was organised by Thailand's Ministry of Culture and an annual event celebrating the diverse mask and cultural heritage of ASEAN countries and dialogue partners.

This year's celebration also commemorated the founding of ASEAN and the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN Cultural Centre.
