
Philippinische Gottesdienst Gemeinde” Marks 25 Years Of Faith And Song With Thanksgiving Concert
VIENNA, Austria—The Philippinische Gottesdienst Gemeinde (PGG) in Vienna marked its 25th anniversary with the Awit ng Pasasalamat Thanksgiving Concert, drawing hundreds of Filipinos and Austrian friends to Stephan Fadinger Platz 1.
The event featured nine choirs performing beloved Filipino songs of gratitude and resilience, alongside guest performances by Fr. Mars Sahulga, Fr. Edwin Reyes, and PGG chaplain Fr. Ron Sandoval. Philippine Ambassador Lourdes Arroyo Bernas praised the PGG for nurturing faith and extending charity to both Austria and the Philippines.

Fr. Sandoval reflected on the community’s beginnings and was honored with a plaque of appreciation, while concert director Debbie Beltran-Tschirch was recognized for her leadership.
The program unfolded in three acts—revisiting PGG’s origins, highlighting 25 years of projects, and envisioning its future with youth leadership. Highlights included performances of OPM classics like Hawak Kamay, Salamat, Noypi, Paraiso, and a grand finale of Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika sung by all choirs.

The evening celebrated not only music, but also faith, cultural pride, and community spirit, reaffirming the PGG’s enduring presence in Vienna.
