Safety At Sea: Tristar Group Spearheads Conference On Mental Health And Emotional Welfare Of Seafarers

DUBAI—A conference that aims to draw more attention to the mental health and emotional welfare of men and women who work at sea was held recently in the United Arab Emirates.

Now on its 7th edition, the gathering spearheaded by Tristar Group in Dubai saw active engagement from top diplomats, including Consul General of India to Dubai Satish Kumar Sivan, maritime industry veterans, safety and welfare experts and professional seafarers’ organisations.

The event was also streamed live and crew members on board vessels and maritime workers at Indian seafarer centres were able to participate.

An interactive workshop on wellbeing and care was also conducted toward the end of the gathering, with some participants suggesting to create an online forum among seafarers.

Tristar employs mostly Filipino and Indian seafarers. Filipino crew Henry Galamiton Cadua was awarded for winning the 12-week BMI challenge initiated by the company to encourage healthy living and work-life balance.
