The Boys Fans Flock Series Premiere In Rome

ROME, Italy — The highly anticipated fifth and final season of The Boys premiered in Rome, drawing fans eager to celebrate the global hit series as it heads toward its explosive final chapter.

Fans gathered at Space Cinema Moderno in Rome on March 19 to welcome the stars of the series.

Cast members and key behindthescenes talents walked the red carpet and were introduced to fans during a short program held outside the cinema.

In an interview with ABSCBN News ahead of the premiere, creator, head writer, and showrunner Eric Kripke spoke candidly about the pressure of ending the series.

“It’s very nervewracking to do a finale. People tend to retroactively judge the series based on how they felt about the finale,” Kripke said.

“I’m hopeful. I’m not cocky about it. I’m mostly nervous.”

Actor Jack Quaid, who plays human protagonist Hughie Campbell, described the end of the series as a bittersweet moment for the cast and crew, who have worked together for seven years.

“Professionally, this show has given me so much,” Quaid said.

“I know this is a cliché, but it’s true — we have truly become a family,” he added.

Karl Urban, who portrays Billy Butcher, reflected on the show’s broader impact.

“I really feel with The Boys, we have changed the landscape of television,” Urban told ABSCBN News.

In the fifth and final season, it is Homelander’s world — completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a socalled “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe forces, while Kimiko is nowhere to be found.

When Butcher reappears, ready and willing to unleash a virus that could wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world — and everyone in it.

Season Five of the multi–Emmy Awardwinning series premieres April 8, 2026, with a two episode debut. New episodes will follow weekly, culminating in the unforgettable series finale on May 20, 2026.

The season will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
