CLAREMONT, California — Vanura Homehealth Services, a premier home healthcare agency owned and operated by Filipino-American couple Alan De Leon and Amabel Nugpo-De Leon, marked a major milestone by celebrating 25 years of exceptional community care.

The agency commemorated its quarter-century anniversary with a spectacular "Silver Legacy Gala" hosted at the historic Bridges Auditorium in Claremont, California.

Since its inception, Vanura Homehealth Services has grown from a visionary venture into a trusted community cornerstone, providing vital medical and rehabilitative care directly to patients in the comfort of their homes.

The Silver Legacy Gala served as both a reflection on twenty-five years of deeply rooted community impact and a celebration of the dedicated healthcare professionals who have fueled the agency’s long-term success.

Gathering staff, healthcare partners, community leaders, and supporters, the evening paid tribute to the founders' vision of delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive healthcare.

The landmark celebration also highlighted the story behind the company’s legacy through a docudrama showcase, heartfelt speeches from the owners, recognition of the men and women behind its longevity.

Guests were also serenaded by iconic balladeer David Pomeranz, who sang his hits. Pomeranz surprised guests with his own rendition of Philippine famous Christmas song "Pasko na Sinta Ko".

Vanura is the flagship company of a husband-and-wife tandem who established their brand the same year they got married. Their success is evident in the creation of other home health sites in response to high demand for their service.

Amabel, who came to America in the mid-90s and practiced the nursing profession for years before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey with her clinician husband, said, “Tonight we are in the presence of remarkable people from every chapter of Vanura’s story. Those pioneers who witnessed the dream before there was even a company, employees who arrived for a job, and the physicians, healthcare leaders, community partners, patients, families, and friends who trusted Vanura and helped strengthen its mission.”

Amabel authored the self-help book and part-memoir “Bloom On The Battlefield” and is the main subject of the docufilm “Duty or Destiny (The Life and Journey of Amabel De Leon),” directed by noted filmmaker Enzo Williams.

The De Leons met at work after Alan, a former occupational therapist, moved from Florida to California, where Amabel was supervising a Skilled Nursing Facility at the time.

A few years ago, long married and blessed with three gentle sons (Alec, Aaron, and Andre), they met Pomeranz during a trip to the US East Coast. The latter turned out to be the perfect headlining artist for the anniversary event, as some of the singer’s notable hits are special soundtracks to their love story, especially “Born For You.”

Other celebrity singers on hand also included Felson Palad, a beloved belter and husband of US-based actress Donita Rose; Garth Garcia, the christened Fil-Am Prince of Pop; and Maribeth Pascua, the labeled Voice of Asia who made a mark when she became a sensation in Indonesia with her version of “Denpasar Moon.”

Vanura Homehealth, with its headquarters at 8213 Rochester Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, California, is known around the community partly for employing neatly dressed and properly trained staff.

Other agencies were built as a result of Vanura’s success, namely, Optima Care in the city of Ontario, Care Dimension of the Desert in Palm Desert, and Vanura Arizona.

With more than 400 employees and 2,000 clients, Alan and Amabel also set up other
healthcare-related companies such as Averti Care, Vanura Hospice, EdZen Solutions, and DeNu Consultancy, a building near the Ontario International Airport, and now the nerve center of their group of companies.

During the well-attended event, they also presented the highly anticipated Ubora Health platform, described as a consolidated marketplace and a deep source for industry stakeholders and those in need of health assistance.

“For the thousands of people whose lives have been touched by Vanura, for building a company where people could earn a living, we thank Alan and Amabel De Leon,” said Hispanic migrant and one of the event’s hosts, Limber Valenzuela, who is also Vanura’s head of sales.

“25 years ago, you planted a seed in faith. Tonight, you are in the middle of everything that grew from it,” he added.

The evening also featured the unveiling and first public performance of “Fire Within Our Hearts,” a song specially penned to further empower everyone in the Firehouse, a term they embraced to collectively call the committed professionals working with Mr. and Mrs. De Leon, for the people they serve, and the profession they cultivate.
